Disney+ Day 2021

 

Disney+ Day has arrived and made so many announcements. For those unfamiliar with Disney+ Day, it the anniversary date of when the streaming service arrived. Many shows, movies, and announcements  were made, so let's crack to it.

In Marvel news, the company took a look back at the last year and all their releases. WandaVision, Falcon and Winter Soldier, Loki, and What If..? We got many first looks for the upcoming series Moon Knight, She-Hulk, Ms, Marvel, and Hawkeye. Marvel went on to announce the X-Men '97 animated series, What If...? Season 2, Echo, Spider-Man: Freshmen Year, Agatha: House of Harkness, and animated Marvel Zombies. Marvel gave new looks for I Am Groot, Ironheart, and Secret Invasion. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was release to Disney+ subscribers. Disney+ subscribers can also get the IMAX Enhanced versions of select Marvel movies: Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, Black Widow, and Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings

In Star Wars news, we got a first look at the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Audiences saw concept art and interviews that hinted at a rematch between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader. The series is set appear next year in 2022 on Disney+. The original documentary Under the Helmet: The Legacy of Boba Fett was released to Disney+. The documentary tells the story behind the galaxy's most famous bounty hunter and why he matters to so many. 
National Geographic also got in on the fun. Trailers were revealed for Will Smith and Chris Hemsworth's series. Will Smith's Welcome to Earth will premiere on December 8. Limitless with Chris Hemsworth will premiere in 2022. America the Beautiful will show the wonders of the US's wilderness in 2022. 
Now to finally hit the Disney news. Disney released new content like Jungle Cruise, Home Sweet Home Alone, Olaf Presents, and Ciao Alberto, and many more. Baymax!, a series based on the character of Big Hero Six, will premiere in summer 2022. Cars On the Road, Tiana, Zooptopia+, and Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers will all debut in 2022. We got a first look at Hocus Pocus 2. The live-action Pinocchio will debut on Disney+ in fall 2022. Ice Age is back with a new movie, The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild, that premieres on January 28, 2022. Cheaper by the Dozen reboot will be released in March 2022. Disenchanted, the sequel to Enchanted, will be released next year. The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder gets a new trailer and will be released February 2022. High School Musical: The Musical: The Series will feature songs from Frozen for the new season.

  1. Oh my, I didn't even know this day existed. One of my roommates is obsessed with everything Disney. I'm going to have to update her about all of the new releases and see if she even knew about any of it. She probably does but she will still entertain me by acting excited. Personally I can't wait for the Cheaper by the Dozen Reboot, one of my favorite movies in my childhood!

  2. This is so cool. It always blows my mind how big Disney is and how much content they produce. I am not that big of a fan and I dont keep up reglarly with marvel content, but they are doing a lot next year. My brother is a huge fan and he is super excited. I personally am excited for Ice Age, I loved that movie growing up and I am excited to see what they will do with it. - Ashley
